Dear Parishioners of Ascension,

It is with a very disappointed heart that I have to announce that even the distribution of Holy Communion must cease following a correction to the Archbishop's letter sent out by the Worship Office of the Archdiocese. We are not permitted to hold any liturgical gatherings which include the distribution of Holy Communion. The priests are very saddened by this but understand that these are new challenges facing our community and we will continue to pray for the physical and spiritual health of all. March 19, the Solemnity of St. Joseph, will be the last day for the distribution of Holy Communion until we are able to gather again as a community.

During this time of national emergency, beginning Friday, March 20, confessions will be heard daily at 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. in the Main Church.
The churches will be open during the day for personal prayer and visits; the Little Church will remain open 24/7 with brief closures for cleaning.
We will continue with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursdays in the LIttle Church from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Access the parish bulletin through the parish website ( or the parish app for news about the parish.

Please consider mailing in your parish contributions; it seems the bills are the only thing not affected by the virus.

Again, I am very sorry to have to implement these restrictions. A friend reminded me that while this isn't the Lent I planned for, it is the Lent we have. Let us unite even more fervently in prayer, fasting, and almsgiving as we all face this unusual period of time. I hope you will use this time to pray as a family, nurturing the domestic church of the home.

Fr. Molini
